    The latest MFA server versions have been tested and verified to work with the latest Windows and SQL Server versions. Below, you can find the minimum requirements for the RapidIdentity MFA Server software.

    Server Requirements

    • Microsoft® Windows Server 2012 R2 or greater (including Server 2022)

      Server 2012 R2 is functional but no longer recommended because it has reached end of support from Microsoft as of October 10, 2023.

    • Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Express 2016 or higher (including SQL 2022)
    • 4GB RAM (8GB if SQL is installed on the same server)
    • 120 MB of available hard disk space for the RI MFA server software
    • .NET Framework 4.7.2 or greater
    • Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, and 2019
    • RapidIdentity MFA may be deployed to physical servers, virtual servers, or both
    • RapidIdentity MFA may be deployed to servers operating as domain controllers or member servers; however, it is not recommended to deploy on a domain controller if possible
    • IIS must be installed
