The related errors can appear as either of the following: - Unable to create ActiveX object ![1.png](https://cdn.document360.io/cf888ab6-47bb-4aaa-984b-26a47cdccf46/Images/Documentation/1%285%29.png) - RapidIdentity client software not detected ![somethingWentWrong.png](https://cdn.document360.io/cf888ab6-47bb-4aaa-984b-26a47cdccf46/Images/Documentation/somethingWentWrong.png) 🛠️ Additional Requirements - Internet Explorer or [IE Compatibility Mode for Edge](/v1/docs/ie-compatibility-mode-for-edge) will be required (these are the only browsers that can still utilize the ActiveX settings) - The [Client-Side Components](/v1/docs/4981-server-release-notes) installation (the full RI MFA client is not required to install this if it isn't already) ⚠️ Important You can only use the AD Lookup Tool by accessing your ONE portal directly from a domain-joined machine. ## ActiveX Settings 1. In your IE browser settings or *Internet Options*, navigate to the *Security* tab. 2. Select “Trusted Sites”. 3. Towards the bottom, click “Custom level…” 4. Step through the ActiveX options and make sure your settings match the required settings below. ![ActviceX Settings Table.png](https://cdn.document360.io/cf888ab6-47bb-4aaa-984b-26a47cdccf46/Images/Documentation/ActviceX%20Settings%20Table.png) **The highlighted settings are what need to be enabled a majority of the time.* --- ## Trusted Sites In addition to the ActiveX settings, you will also need to add your MFA portal's site to the *Trusted Sites*. 1. In your server's Internet Options pop-up under the *Security* tab, click on "Sites". 2. This will open up a new pop-up. Add your site (being mindful of HTTP vs HTTPS) and click "Add". Your site should appear in the *Websites* box. 3. Click "Close". ![activex-trustedsites.png](https://cdn.document360.io/cf888ab6-47bb-4aaa-984b-26a47cdccf46/Images/Documentation/activex-trustedsites.png) 4. If you are completely done within your *Internet Options*, click "Apply" then "Ok". ## Related - [IE Compatibility Mode for Edge](/ie-compatibility-mode-for-edge.md) - [Creating An MFA Client Policy](/creating-an-mfa-client-policy.md) - [Set Up An Enrollment Station](/set-up-an-enrollment-station.md)
