Article summary

For the Active Directory Lookup Tool or ability to scan RFID cards from the browser portal to work, the following settings will need to be enabled in your Internet Options. Make sure to also have the mentioned Client-Side Components application installed on the server and/or client - wherever you are getting the error(s). Such errors will appear as the following:

"Unable to create ActiveX object"

"RapidIdentity client software not detected"

Addtionally, you will need to be in IE mode for the Edge browser. Please see our page for Edge's IE Compatibility Mode.

Important

You can only use the AD Lookup Tool by accessing your ONE portal directly from a domain-joined machine.

ActiveX Settings

  1. In your IE browser settings, navigate to the Security tab.
  2. Select “Trusted Sites”.
  3. Towards the bottom, click on “Custom level…”
  4. Step through the ActiveX options and make sure your settings match ours. The highlighted ones are what still need enabling a majority of the time.

Trusted Sites

In addition to the ActiveX settings, you will also need to add your MFA portal's site to the Trusted Sites.

  1. In your server's Internet Options pop-up under the Security tab, click on "Sites".

  2. This will open up a new pop-up. Add your site (being mindful of HTTP vs HTTPS) and click "Add". Your site should appear in the Websites box.

  3. Click "Close".
